I have osteoporosis with severe bone density loss. My Endocrinologist M.D. told me to go to Amazon (price) and purchase this specific brand and mg amount. For me, she prescribed a double dose. I am taking 4 a day with my meal. I prefer to take them once a day and be done with it. Just to share this information with you, she also told me that one oz of cheese, a glass of milk or a cup of yogurt would each be equivalent to 1 pill so if I eat/drink any of these during the day, I should eliminate 1 or more of the tablets. In other words, if I drink a glass of milk, I should take 3 and etc. The pills are very large due to the mg’s but personally, I don’t have a problem swallowing them.

My Chiropractor clued me in on the health benefits of Citrate vs Carbonate in our bodies. Carbonate freely attaches to other solids and will form stones in our UT system. Whether we feel them or not, they will be present and cause issues. This info was Seconded by my Urologist. I need to take a fair amount of calcium each day and this is good and convenient. I chew the pills. They are a little large to swallow. They taste a little chalky, but not bad. They are not flavored. Can’t testify to their absorbency (how do you measure that?).

The thought of taking 4 chewables a day literally turned my stomach as I found the taste of them to be pretty vile. My doctor recommended these as an alternative and they’ve worked so well for me, I’ve already bought a year’s supply.
The pills are large, but I just take them one at a time and they go down with no problem and no stomach upset. No smell, no taste, a perfect solution for me.
If you have problems with large pills, they may be an issue for you. I toss one to the back of the throat with it facing left/right across my mouth, take a moderate swig and no problem. Been using almost a month 4x/day and have yet to have an issue.

They do what they say they do. My labs were drawn recently and my calcium was great. I don’t consume much calcium beyond these pills. However, 2 of these together are almost the size of a grape so if you can’t swallow pills… go get come veg capsule ones! However, most calcium pills are fairly large

Pharmacists have told me that it’s a waste of money to buy calcium carbonate pills, just to get calcium citrate which is better absorbed. A lot of things SOUND like they can “citrate” in them but don’t. This is a good price for a large supply of actual calcium citrate pills, important for those of us who need them.

Okay so….I am required to take calcium citrate after my RNY surgery. Having said that, I’ve tried so many different options. This is definitely the best value for the dollar. The pills are rather large, but very smooth which makes them easier to take than others of their size. My labs have all come out great after using this product for a year. If you have an issue swallowing pills, you will not be able to take these….when I say they are large, they are BIG BOIS. Lol Maybe a liquid alternative would be better for you. But if you can take horse pills, as my grandmother used to call them, these are GREAT! Hope this helped someone.
